Compact, efficient, cheap to run, 3 Sep 2010

This printer was bought to replace another small Brother machine. It's quiet in use, tolerably quick when printing colour or mono, the colour gamut and resolution aren't too bad for a cheap four-ink machine (although I wouldn't put complicated hi-res work through it). The real deal-maker for me was the low cost of (compatible) cartridges - little more than £1 each when bought online in multiples. In my experience, only Epson compatibles for machines like the Stylus SX200 are as economical, and it's certainly far cheaper to run than any HP, Dell or Lexmark printers that I've come across.

I have always been an Epson man, and when, after long and faithful service my scanner packed in I obviously looked at the latest Epson models. After looking at other makes as well, I realised that I could probably buy and all-in-one printer for not much more than a 'good' scanner. I decided on The Brother DCP 195C and have found it, so far, as good as 'it says on the tin'. I found no problem unpacking and setting up. The Amazon free delivery was quick and as estimated, and the price was the clincher. I have already recommended it to someone who was impressed when I sang it's praises and who. I think, is going to buy one.

I bought this to replace a previous version of this All-in-One and am delighted with my purchase. It arrived almost by by return of post and was easy to set up and use. It is much quieter than the previous version but I have yet to test whether the company has managed to overcome the irritating fault of the machine going on 'beeping' the warning that the inks need replacing even when some, but not all, of the ink cartridges, of the ink had been replaced. But excellent value for money.

I purchased the Brother A425 Typewriter as I wanted to be able to write letters without the need for complicated computers, printers etc. I haven't used a typewriter for many years and it is wonderful coming back to one after so long. Makes me wonder why on earth I ever moved away from one. I admit, a computer is brilliant for longer documents where editing is needed, but for writing personal letters this Brother typewriter is perfect for my needs. The type is very clear and looks wonderful against laid 100gsm cream paper.

Very dissappointed with this product, I needed a replacement for an old Sharp electronic typewriter for my small business.

This machine does not have a memory to save the normal settings i.e. Font size, margins, tabs etc. etc.

When you power off the machine after using it and power it back on again you have to reset all of the above, what a waste of time!!

I contacted the Brother technical helpline (Premium rate)with regard to this and after two tries and promises to phone me back I was eventually told that there is no memory to save the settings to.

I returned my Brother typewriter to my supplier for credit.

I bought this pen originally for a gift, but then ending up buying something else at the intended recipients request.

The pen came in a lovely box and with a little black pouch for storing the pen inside. There was also an additional charm attached to the pouch (Im not sure if this is in all cases).

So now I have a lock and a key charm attached to the pen. It does rattle sometimes, so in meetings I tend to turn the pen so that the charms sit against my hand and they dont jingle, the rest of the time I dont even notice.

The pen writes really nicely and is quite solid feeling without feeling heavy.

Im now looking to buy another one, but hopefully in a different colour, for a friend.

the screen comes out very well and is slick, however trying to put it back in seems a two man job. The smell isn't great but can be lived with and the instructions useless as the person obviously did not know english.otherwise good product, only probem is putting it away at the end of a presentation.
